Since 2013, artist Tobias Gutmann has portrayed more than 5,000 people around the world with his performance “Face-o-mat”. His aim is to capture the “sound of a person” in a playful, lively way. For his participatory exhibition at the Ithra Center in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, we had the privilege of developing a mobile app together with Tobias. Built on the React Native framework, the app is available for iOS and Android in English and Arabic.

RTL – a challenge تحدي
One of the trickiest parts of this project was integrating Arabic seamlessly across both platforms. It meant adapting everything to a right-to-left script and paying close attention to cultural nuances, so that the interface would feel intuitive and easy to use.
